Sonic Days 2025, one of Northern Europe’s premier audio technology conferences, is set to return to Kolding, Denmark, on November 19–20, 2025. Hosted by Sonic College at UC SYD, this fourth edition promises to be a dynamic convergence of creativity, technology, and human connection, inviting sound professionals, artists, technologists, and researchers to engage in two days of inspiration, learning, and collaboration.
The conference spans nine thematic tracks, covering film and TV sound, game audio, music production, podcasting, sound art, museum soundscapes, audio technology, sound synthesis, and new concert formats. Each track offers a deep dive into both artistic and technical practices, exploring how sound shapes experiences across media and culture. This comprehensive approach ensures that attendees can tailor their experience to their interests while also discovering new areas of the audio world.
Among the highlights are Oscar-winning sound editor James Mather, known for his work on “Top Gun: Maverick” and the “Harry Potter” series, Grammy-winning engineer Morten Lindberg, and immersive audio pioneer Hans-Martin Buff, who has collaborated with Peter Gabriel. The lineup also features Marcela Rada, Thomas Lund from Genelec, Ragnhild May, Marie Koldkjær Højlund, Timothy Muirhead from the Tonebenders Podcast, and electronic visionary Bjørn Svin. These experts will share their insights through hands-on workshops, immersive production and recording sessions, demonstrations of next-generation tools, and experimental performances that blur the boundaries between art, science, and storytelling.
Sonic Days 2025 is made possible through the generous support of its Platinum sponsor, Dolby Creator Lab, and a strong network of Gold sponsors, including Genelec, Neumann, Audiokinetic, MPSE (Motion Picture Sound Editors), Dynaudio, Meyer Sound, and Stouenborg. These partnerships ensure that the conference remains free and inclusive, providing a democratic space for professionals, students, and creators to share knowledge and inspiration across disciplines.
Lars Tirsbæk, Head of Programme at Sonic College and Head of Sonic Days, emphasizes the unique diversity and unexpected experiences that attendees can expect. “Sonic Days is where you gather inspiration, learning, and new connections if you work with sound. But it’s also a place where you’ll experience something you didn’t expect – we embrace a diversity that simply doesn’t exist anywhere else in the field of sound,” he says.
Last year’s edition drew close to 600 participants from more than ten countries, solidifying Sonic Days as a key European platform for exploring the future of sound. This year, the conference aims to expand its international profile even further, bringing together voices from film, games, performance, and research to discuss how technology, creativity, and education can unite in shaping tomorrow’s soundscapes.
